Certified Professional Inspector (CPI)
Bob Huizing
The Uniqueness of Coastal Living
I thoroughly enjoy helping Outer Banks full- and part-time residents by using my background with coastal buildings. Before I became a certified home inspector, realtors from throughout the area had me review hundreds of inspection reports they’d received from other inspectors. When I decided to make the leap from repairing houses to inspecting them, I made sure to further arm myself with the very best industry education.

Home Inspector
Christian Brantley
When Christian started off as Bob’s apprentice he realized early on that this was a challenging career that would combine his interest in home building with his desire to help others. Christian took his job seriously and began studying as his responsibilities increased while working as Bob’s apprentice for several hundred inspections before even starting his formal education.
Christian completed his education and all state requirements in the fall of 2020 when he earned his North Carolina home inspectors license. Joining Bob at OBX inspector has jump started his career. After earning his license Christian is already following in the OBX inspector pattern of making very happy customers and receiving five star reviews!
benefit from a detailed inspection
How we can help
Both existing and New Home Owners will benefit from a detailed inspection of their homes. When a home is not occupied by a full-time owner, small issues can develop without being noticed for an extended period. This can easily turn a small defect into a large problem that will require extensive repairs. I have seen too many homeowners get blindsided when an unforeseen defect is not discovered. By the time the signs of most unexpected repairs progress into something that is blatantly obvious, the defect requires a significant and costly repair to correct.
A thorough inspection by a certified home inspector is the best way to have the “peace of mind” associated with knowing that your Outer Banks home is in great shape. I look forward to helping you ensure your home is free of unexpected surprises.
We Love Helping Others!
Coastal life has always appealed to Bob. In fact, kiteboarding and surfing are two of his favorite activities. Before he repaired and inspected homes, he owned a ski, snowboarding, and windsurfing store.
